Finally gave in to temptation and Called ECS
I've been running my stock short block '04 Z06 with an ECS Paxton kit and ECS/Alkycontrol methanol injection at 7 PSI since early last spring. I don't race the car and don't plan to (I've been down that road before) but I've had the urge to take advantage of the Novi 2000's incredible potential. I contacted Chris and ECS will be reworking the car a bit:
-Forged 346
-Upgrade to 8 rib pulley system
-Upgrade to the ECS fuel system
-Upgrade to dual nozzle alcohol injection
-ECS blower camshaft
-American Racing LT's (with cats & AIR)
-Textralia steel billet clutch
-Tuning
Because this car isn't going to the track, we decided not to do any further driveline upgrades. While I don't have any specific power goals in mind, I am still pretty excited to see what ECS can come up with!
BTW, it was a very difficult decision for me not to have this work done by my regular shop here in CT. They have always treated me like "part of the family" and really know their way around an LSx motor. But this setup seems to be one of ECS's mainstays and there is nothing like getting the work done by the guys who designed the kit.
This should be an exciting spring!

yea, but then you gotta buy a block and crank and it's almost overkill for the street. A nice 346 is more than enough if one is not looking to set records. A 402 is by all means a great bang for the buck if you're gonna forge, but sometimes I wish I just woulda left it simple...but not really

Believe me, I have been going back and forth on the 402 in my mind for a while, but for some reason I just like the idea of a stock displacement F/I motor. I won't be racing this car and I know that it's going to be completely traction limited as it is. I hope I made the right choice...I guess we'll know in several weeks.

Jay (4DRUSH) has a forged 346 and has been running 9.7s with the novi setup. If you go to his profile you can see some more of his goodies. Fuel suppy at the higher end is just as important. Doug swapped out his C5R 427 (hmmm - somebody is gonna be a happy camper ) and plans to run close to 9.5s in his convertible

Welcome to Boost World
If you think that you wont take that car to the track, dont worry about it.........With all the upgrades that you are getting, ECS forgot to mention that they have a Track Testing Package (Doug Driving) for no charge...................Make sure you ask them about it! ! ! ITS FREE! !

BTW, how much is a gallon of 93 octane gas in Dubai? Don't tell me you get gas for free...

Ken,
Sounds exactly the same way I felt 6 months ago. 7 lbs of boost with stock motor was fun, but what would it be like with a forged bottom and 14 lbs? I also thought about the 402, but didn't want to buy all the extra LS2 goodies. I also liked the idea of stock cubes and still do!!!!! All I wanted was a bad azz street car. Turns out I also got a bad azz drag car also. You will be very happly with their stage 1 setup as I am.
