Default Question on tensioning belt on A&A kit...

I'm pretty sure it's the older kit. I bought the car already set up and the install was done in '09, not sure if that helps at all. I'm about to tackle a belt change on my car and I'm not sure how the belt is tensioned. Is it manually tensioned like it looks like in the YouTube video A&A did?

Thanks for any help, Jim

It is manually tensioned by the slide tensioner and by the spring tensioner.

Nope sure isn't. Did you have to remove the head unit?

Ur spring tensioner should be about 70% maxed and the manual should be about half way.

Not completely. We loosened most of the bolts, removed a couple and removed the coupler to the dongle. And that's when the wrestling match started! lol

^ josh.. Mine I had to hulk the **** out of it to get off alternator pulley. How do you manage to get the tension off, do you depress the auto tensioner some how?

Passenger side of car-Release manual tensioner, walk to driver side of car-pull belt as hard as humanly possible off alternator, walk to passenger side of car-unbolt the three mounts, pull the blower back a couple inches, do the damn thing, then flip it and reverse it. Lol

For reference purposes.

Here is a cool tech tip. Using a 1/2" extension or piece of round aluminum can help lock the automatic tensioner in place and allow you more slack in the belt to get it installed or removed easier.
This trick can be used on the bench before installing s/c or in the car before removing tension off the belt.
