Default ECS blower build

I finally started my blower build today, been a long time but I finally get to boost the Z06!
My first cam swap was on jackstands and now I have a lift, wow its so much easier with a lift.

My build consists of the following parts

ECS supercharger kit (Novi 1500) - Thanks Matt@FSP for the hookup
Tick Performance stage 1 LS2 blower camshaft
BTR .650 springs with titanium retainers
ECS stage 1 fuel system - Still need to buy
ECS meth kit - Still need to buy
Standard cam install parts
Morel 5290 link bar lifters
ARP head studs
ARP crank bolt
New oem harmonic balancer (replace powerbond underdriven IIRC)

Dyno results: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1589639335

I already have

Mantic clutch (twin)
1 3/4 headers
AI ported 243s (226 package - 64cc heads)
RPM built trans
L/R hardened shafts
DSS guibos
R888's on the rear

Last start NA

Picture of the NA setup

First days work:

Front bumper, hood, intake, radiator support, shrouds out

Radiator, alternator, PS res removed

Intake manifold, coil packs, water pump, ps pump, idler, belt removed

Valve covers, rockers, push rods out

Saturday I should have exhaust, heads, rack, cam out

Good start

Might want to cut your lower section of the front cross member out for better air flow while the car is that far apart

Thanks! Any pics that I can use as a reference for cutting? Would I need to get support welded back in (insides of cuts boxed)?

You could do something like this or even wider for the whole IC

The cross member is a rectangle tube with a C channel welded on top (that's what the horizontal weld is for)

I like that idea, but it seems pretty extreme for a street build.

Every little piece helps at the end of the day.

Doesn't this total the vehicle as far as insurance is concerned? It modifies the bumper frame and changes crash impact.

If you guys are worried about your insurance company I suggest you don't do that mod,

I also suggest you call your insurance company & tell them you doubled the HP of your Corvette

Hey just bring it up because some people may care is all. Eyes wide open before taking a cutoff wheel to the frame. Op, your call. It certainly helps open up airflow up front, just making sure you knew the trade-off and were okay with it.

Fwiw, insurance companies don't really care about the extra power mods. Or at least mine doesn't... They know what I have in the car, and I have my insured value jacked way the hell up. Hardly costs anything for a non-primary vehicle.

Good points, we shall see what I do. Pretty sure my insurance would **** a brick if they saw the cage anyway.

More progress today

Passenger side head/header off, lifters out

Rack out, balancer removed (for sale),timing cover removed

Cam out

Next weekend I will remove oil pump to install new chain, degree cam, timing cover gasket/seal, etc. During the week I need to clean the block off, chase threads, normal clean up.

I did however notice this on the camshaft I removed, is the cam trash now? I was going to sell it but if its not good I will make a lamp out of it and not screw someone over.

Nice looking build. Sent you a PM on a few things.

I noticed you said OEM balancer. Probably better choices to make there.

Thanks for the PM

I've heard a bunch about OEM balancers on the C6s causing issues but not much about ACDelco balancers on C5s. Anyone care to chime in? If it really is stupid to run the ACDelco piece, as in not IF but WHEN it will die then in the spirit of not doing **** wrong I will get another piece. I'll do some searching now
