Default Boost and Internals

Been lots of talk about HP and stock internals. My question is how much boost can the stock internals take with out breaking down? An example would be how much boost can the valves take before they leak? At what point does the stock fuel pump run out of gas? I currently at 9.5 lbs. of boost and 500hp. Looking to retune to 600 hp.

I know he was thinking about retune to get 600 rwhp.

To the OP here On a stock fuel system with at least a kenne bell BOP hotwire I think you are pushing it and you don't want to run out of fuel on a WOT pull in boost.

On the bottom end it all is just a matter of time when pushing over 2 times the amount of HP.

Heads how many miles on them, a new set of valve spring good valve job...

You should be fine with 600hp just get a boost a pump with a hot wire kit. And some good valve springs

The tune is most important part to keep a stock motor together.

I agree with this... Im at mid 600s for a couple years now doing about 5 1/2 mile runs (Going WOT into 5th gear) and a bunch of street runs with just a BAP and 60lb injectors (Obviously meth too).

FWIW - When i do the 1/2 mile events i add a gallon or 2 of 100 octane into my tank of 91 (Cali gas).

motors aren't that smart. it doesn't know or care what "boost" is.
torque is what break things.
Ex. a motor making 500hp @ 30psi will outlive an identical motor making 700hp @ 9psi

More like cylinder pressure is what breaks things

350 hp drive as hard as you want = 100,000 mi plus. Miles@ 600 hp to wheels = money divided by right foot pressure. This has been my experience anyway! This is a very scientific formula haha

My 04' LS6 has been boosted since 07' and never a burp. It's a Novi 2000 tuned and installed by ECS which really that is key, THE TUNE. It see's 7 psi and puts 581whp and 515wtq. I run Meth and a Stock fuel system with a BAP. AR longtubes, hi-flows thru straights. These are safe numbers and really for a 3,100 pound street car it is more then enough. It totally drives like it did when it was stock.

My point is... it matters how you drive it also, it's not just hp that kills them, or a bad tune, and more money in the right places = more ability to push it harder!
Just call me captain obvious.
All respect to you and your tuner.

Yes your right and do night kill my car. I do play hard when I do though. But I'm careful with my fuel , only use 93 from Sunoco or Shell.
