Default Need Some Tire Advice for the Track

Any opinions on running Hoosier 28.00 x 10.00-17 Bias ply at the track?

Is a 28 too tall for a Tr6060 with z51 ratio and 3.42 rear?

I couldn't do any better than 1.8x 60' with 295/45-17 et streets due to snapping axles, but I have DSS axles now.

I tried them with stock mn12 gearing and 3.42's. Car launched well, but just killed my top end from the rpm drop.

Your car may 60ft well but dont expect it to mph out the big end like it currently does is my guess.

What do recommend for a 17" wheel in bias-ply?

What about these?

Yep. That's probably what you want if you need to use a 17"

I believe those MT ET streets are the only 17" bias ply option you have. Can you switch to a cheap 16" wheel and go with a 26" slick?

Thanks for the advice... I just can't see spending the $$ for spindles to run 15's. They are way overpriced.

Got my first 10 sec slip on some borrowed Z06 fronts with those MT's. After that you can say I was hooked.

I've been 10.6 with the ET Streets, but can't get off the line. Bias plys act better with manual cars don't they?

That's what I have on the car now for street and track. They hook too hard off the line. When ever I launch above 3500 rpm an axle would snap (this is with slipping the clutch).
