Default Z06 Brake Swap - Advice Sought

Has anyone put the Z06 brakes on a Coupe? If so, any pics and what do you think as I am considering upgrading (is it an upgrade?) to Z06 brakes and new drilled and slotted rotors. Thanks.

Thanks. I will wait and upgrade to Bear or Willwood.

Unless you just like the 'Look' of the big brakes don't waste your money. You will not notice any stopping difference. If your stock brakes can lock your wheels (and yours can) you have all the stopping power you need. That said, I run the BAER Eradispeed rotors caus I like the look but they made no difference whatsoever in the way the car stopped. I know some on here will flame this post and say that there is no way stock brakes can stop as well as six-piston Willwoods with 14 inch rotors using master cylinder bias controls and stainless lines with PAD-X or PAD-Z and that is true BUT; the point I am trying to make is if you kill a fly with a rolled up magazine or a 2X4 the fly is just as dead.

Would be a waste of money to put on the C5 Z06 calipers. I went with the Baer Eradispeed rotors though - mainly for looks and the lifetime no warpage guarantee.

Thanks everyone. I will hold off and determine if I want the aftermarket brakes for dress-up in the future.

I was in the same boat as you and resolved that issue foe $270's last week.
1. Group buy on complete set of Bendix rotors (Drilled/slotted)
2. Axxis Metal Matrix pads
3. 2 Cans of Rustoluem "Sunrise Red"
4. 2 cans of Brake Cleaner
5. 12 Pack of the finest beer

$280 later I should have "Z06" style brakes

Good point ! - If you can lockup your wheels, how could you stop any faster! Never thought about it, but it makes sense.

Sweet. This is a very good option. I do think the drill and slotted rotors are needed.

I changed over to Baer's Eradispeed +1's in order to get the larger 14.25" rear rotor (and the looks too). I ordered the "slotted only" version as I didn't want to worry with any potential hassles from cracking around the holes. The extra size on the rear rotors does give some increased braking performance, not to mention it "fills out" the rear wheels much better too.
As for the stock Z06 brakes vs stock C5 brakes, the only difference is the color of the calipers (as others have noted) and the pads. The Z06 pads carry a different part number (different metallic content).
BTW, if you can "lock your wheels" your ABS system isn't working.
