Tire Mount/Balance Cost?
I need to have 4 tires mounted and balanced on my 2001 Z06 OEM wheels. How much should this cost? I was quoted $50/wheel. Sound expensinve? I did a search but didn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

To dismount , remount , balance , and bolt back onto your car is a lot of work . I would not be surprised if the price was near that . You have to remember that this a job that takes special equipment not found at home .
Good Luck .

$25 / wheel + tax including tire removal/disposal, tire install and inner rim sticky balance weights using Corghi Artilio Master / Hunter GSP9700 equipment. Tires were NOT purchased from the place that did the mount/balance but I did bring the tires/wheels in off the car.

I bought my F1 GS D-3's from tirerack.com, and what I saved on sales tax more than paid for my mounting and balancing. Cost me $80.00 at a local Big O dealer including disposal of my worn out runflats, but I did take the wheels, and new tires to them. I was painting my calipers at the same time, so had the tires mounted while the paint was drying. Highly recommend the D-3's over the runflats, gave the car an entirely new personality.

Shouldn't cost more than $20-25 a wheel for mount and balance. That's all it is around here.

$20 - $25 a wheel is average.
I take my wheels seperatly to a local tire shop and they do my race wheels for $11 each.
of course when there are 8 wheels at a time

Discount Tire once charged me $75, and $90 another time. I thought I received a very fair deal both times.

Most places around here are $40 a wheel if you didnt buy the tires from them if you got them from tirerack check there web site for perfered installers in your area and you might get a break on the mounting of the tires.

For a runflat it is more expensive, as the tire is much harder to deal with. I would say I paid an extra 15/wheel to deal with runflats. I think 45/wheel is fair for runflats.

Cost me about 130 bucks to re and re wheels and swap my TPMs.
That's wheels off, remove sensors from old wheels and tires, re-install sensors in new wheels and re-install on car.

PAID $112.OO at les schwabb here in oregon and the balance sucks!! and the guy took my little C5 emblem chromies and replaced them with plain chrome ones. they dont even have a force balancer like i was told they did. i took my own tires into them. more than likely the whole problem. so now i guess i get to try and find a place that does have the road force balancer in the portland area and pay all over again for the balance i paid for allready

I paid $20 per tire with a local installer that mounted, did the hunter road force and balanced. It is not that hard to take wheels off. This will give an opportunity to clean the wheel wells out. The installer was recommended by Tire Rack and as luck had it he was only 5 miles from the house. He would have charged an extra $5 per wheel to take them off.
$50 is way to high.
Good luck.
