How come you never hear about this before you buy a C5 ??
I heard of this only after I went shopping for my Corvette.
Maybe it is better kept secret ??
I would have purchased one long before this.
On the way home there were alot , and I mean ALOT of street rods returning back from a cruise-in.( I am a EX street rodder ).
Many I am sure were not getting the mileage I was or even coming near.
I am not bashing street rods ( I still LOVE them ) However many were in the far right lang doing 60-65mph. A problem I often delt with. And gladly no longer do.
PS The only reason I quit them was I

Indeed, the C5's are great for gas mileage. Two trips from Boise to Colorado Springs and back---best mpg was 32.4. Now, many on this forum indicate "actual mileage may vary". I even calculated it mathmatically once, and it was 1.2 mpg lower than the computer. I'll take 31.2 at 82* mph in THE American Sports Car, anyday.
*82 mph is hypothetical, not saying that I was exceeding the 75 mph limit across the flatlands of Wyoming

How the hell do you guys average these MPGs?
If I set the cruise at 75 I can't get better than 25mpg. I know I'm losing a bit with my heavy 345s out back, but something can't be right. The drive from SLO to the bay area does have some hills, but shouldn't those balance out between climbing and coasting since the two spots are roughly at sea level?
