I recently replaced my stock C5 shocks (on my 1997 w/Z51 suspension) with Bilstein Sports. Honestly the ride is far to stiff for me. I was wondering how much different the C5 Z06 shocks are from the Bilstein Sports. Also how would you compare the C5 Z06 shocks to my original OEM shocks?

I know shocks have been discussed a lot in the past...have you tried a search in C5 Tech or the Z06 forum?
Use keywords "shocks" or "BILSTEIN shocks" or "Z06 shocks" and you should find plenty to research.
When you do the searches, click on "search this forum" in the red banner...

I have searched, but couldn't find exactly the info I was looking for.

Let me ask this question. Has anyone replaced their base Z51 shocks with Bilstein HD or Z06 shocks that wishes they didn't because the ride was to stiff for them?

I recently replaced the shocks on my FRC with C6 ZO6 shocks. I would not call the C6 ZO6 shocks any stiffer really and I do like them. At this time it hard to make a direct comparison because I installed my winter wheels and tires at the same time and the tires have more side wall give than my summers GSD3’s.

I hear the '04 Z16 shocks are the best thing for a C5, suspension wise. I'm getting some put on my car when I do the suspension upgrade.
