If you have a Dremel with a buffing wheel and a little rouge you can make those stainless screws shine like chrome

Yeah, I considered it......I have the Dremel, but I also have a 8" buffing wheel............but they are plenty shinny for me.
Getting the buffing compound back out of the phillips heads would be a major PITA

Yep,
Just do some googling and you can get stainless and polished stainless really cheap if you want to buy 500-1000 ct.
But I have no such need

Yup, I found mine at Lowes, and saved quite a bit of money. I picked up the $15.00 dollar + shipping "performance hood seal" the same day at Autozone for $7.99.

Great price...........how much to ship ?
and chrome might rust
But based on your tip I searched and found at McMaster-Carr
Pack
90315A476
18-8 SS Oval Head Phillips Sheet Metal Screw No. 8 Size, 1" Length, Packs of 100 $9.47
Pack
90333A009
18-8 SS Countersunk Flanged Finishing Washer #8 Screw Size, .625" OD, Packs of 100 $4.41
So @13.88 plus shipping for 100...........would be a better deal than I got and then you could then sell "Sets" for $10 and make $$
:thumbs
Wish I had looked at McMaster-Carr first

Ordered the chrome ones. Nice mod on the cheap.
One of my first mods was the Frost King sound deadening.
2nd was the 14$ of parts from Home Depot to flush mount my tail lights.
