Default Wiper motor getting wet

Is there any way to stop the wiper motor from getting wet? Bought a '98, replaced the wiper motor. Worked fine until the car was washed, now they won't shut off. I've cleared all the udders. Thanks for any help for a new member.

I'm all ears on this one - do you mean they won't go all the way back down to seated position, or they literally keep going? I intermittently have mine only return to the paused position, but not fully back down when I shut them off. Did the same thing you did, replaced the motor with no change.

are you sure you cleaned all of the udders? That's the only thing I have heard of that can cause the motor to get wet

There are three udders under the motor that can fill with water if not cleaned. The third one way in the back is difficult to get at.
There is also a rubber sheet that covers the motor under the bezel up top that can get old and rotten and let the water onto the motor.
Suggest your remove the bezel. Wipers, pins and bezel and clean everything out. As gunk gets in their it can also cause your intake air to stink too. (rotten leaves, dead neighborhood kids, etc.)
Clean it all out, WD 40 the mech and see hwat happens.

They just keep on running, can't get them to stop. Looks like I'll be taking it all apart and doing some more cleaning to see if that solves it.

Check the washer button on the switch mine got stuck and wipers would not shut off, pull it out and stretch the springs just a tiny bit and replace button should solve problem I found this out after I put on a new wiper motor.
