Is there any advantage to a C6 moving up from a C5? I went and drove a C6 for the first time this weekend and my dealer tells me to move up to the C6.There are things I like about the C6 and C5,just not sure what to do

I'd say the decision rests with you friend. The dealer wouldn't be doing
his job very well if he told you to stick to a C5,he's looking to make a comission.C6 is a great platform and obviously it's got some improvements over it's predecessor but,is it enough to want to own
one? Good luck
You found a salesman! Since you said you don't know what to do, and car sales are in the toilet, just enjoy your C5 -- unless you have cash burning a hole in your pocket, or enjoy the ripoff of that monthly payment. Do the math, then
I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I can let you have for a good price……LOL…Just kidding of course. What do you want to do is the question? The salesman will tell you anything to make a sale.
Let me say that I called the dealer who is a friend of mine and told him that I had not drove a C6 and he said come on down and do it. I drove a 2008 convertible with the 3lt package, auto white.Drove real nice and road noise was less the my 2000 coupe, the weather was raining so we did not go for a long drive.Different looking panel, not sure if its better or not.I am not sure if i want to bite off a bigger note for a 2008,maybe 2005 with the new body style would be the way to go.... I think I will sleep on it and see what he comes up with.
The extra ~100hp over a base C5 should be good enough reason.
More like 80 to 85 (depending on what year C5 you have) but who's counting
To the OP: The sales guy is just trying to make a sale. If you want the C6, get it. If you like your C5 and don't want a car payment or a higher car payment then don't buy one. The C6 is a nice car and one day I hope to have a C6, but until then.......
You are just having a hangover from driving a new Vette, so don't let it make you spend money you don't want to spend if you don't really want to

After driving several C6s and getting several on lifts my thoughts are the C6 is a C5 1/2. I compare this to my 07 Silverado, new body style and a more powerful motor. With that the case I have my C5 1/2 on order, 09 Coupe

I have test driven several C-6 models, and although they have more power I cant get over the looks of the C-5. I like the int and body so much better I will prob never switch unless a new model looks better. I have thought about a C-6 Z06 but do not want a non removable roof.
