Default Proper way to jack c5's? No manual :/

So I recently just got sumitomo htrz 3's all around for $600 out the door at my local independent tire store. He didn't have lifts just jacks. He mentioned the rubber things that are supposed to be at the jack locations on my car are gone. But he proceeded to jack my car up with his jack. I think it was just bare metal. I don't want this to happen again. So can anyone tell me how I can make this smoother next time? Are there special instructions we should know about? Sorry. First vette and no manual. Thanks guys.

Do a search for jacking pucks......you can make them or buy them.

Theres no big mystery to jacking up the C5

Use one of the jacking points shown on this diagram and you'll be fine

As jrprich says if you use the rocker points use a jacking puck. This avoids making contact with the rocker panel which can be damaged if you get the jack directly on the SMC material. You can buy pucks at EliteEngineering (link on the left) or make DIY pads with a hockey puck and an eye bolt.

Just the usual health warning. Once the car is in the air use a jack stand for safety.

Here you go......they fit the Vette frame slots, pop them in and forget them. Mine have been in for over three years of daily driving.
