Default What happens when you hit a Raccoon going 70 in a lowered Vette? Click here!!!

Almost two weeks have gone by, and I'm supposed to get the car back tomorrow, so I can finally joke about it. I was quite depressed the weekend it happened.

Going down a curvy hilly country road, sprinting enjoying the ride, halfway through a right turn going about 70 a raccoon runs across the oncoming lane and right into the path of the drivers side of the car.

Never found the coon, I think I launched him like a rocket. His head hit the salvage hook on the front drivers side.

Enjoy the pics.

You're lucky. My wife hit a $1,000 raccon in a Civic. The critter bounced under the bumper an up into the engine bay. Took out the AC dryer, condensor, compressor, and everything in-between.

Plus, it ran off the road afterwards.

I'm sure it croaked, but tough critter. Glad you're getting the Vette back and mended.

Damn that sucks, if you were down south they would make a meal out of that racoon. I was watching bizarre foods with Andrew Zimmer and he was in TN and the hillbilly's were bbq'n racoon and possom for supper.

He probably ran away because he did not have liability insurance.

Ouch man, sorry about the damage. Well all's well that ends well. You're getting your car back fixed soon.

Sorry about the bad luck
I'm not sure what I hit since it had been "previously" hit (read; dead) but it was about the size of a Raccoon. I am lowered with a ACI front spoiler, and it knocked about a 10"x 3" chunk out of my spoiler. Good news is I took the spoiler to a body shop friend of mine, and he fixed it (fiberglassed and painted) for $75, and you CAN NOT tell where it was damaged unless you look underneath.

Poor Racoon Probably just coming home from hunting up Nuts and Berries for Momma and the kids.
Going 70 down hill into a right turn. Slow Down!, that could have been someone on a bicycle.

Sounds like an expensive way to hunt for dinner.

OP, at least you didn't swerve away like some idiots on the road would have done. Could have ended up with a lot more damage

Had to replace my front bumper when I hit a coyote. Bummer.
