Anyone with an automatic change their shifter?
talking about the actualy shifting assembly (not just the ****) I remember seeing a C5 road-racer that had it's shifter converted to a Benz-style shifter (Z pattern)

Someone had converted a C6 auto shifter (For 06+ A6's) into a C5. It looks FREAKING sweet. It's not all "bling bling" and it's VERY factory-feel. The only issue is, the whole assembly costs like $200 or more, and you have to do a bit of modification because the "trigger" is in front instead of pushing down like our stock shifter is.
Search for my thread regarding automatic shift **** and you will find someone that posted info on it. He has a complete set of instructions.

Safety Car
I made one several years ago that doesn't require a button, lever or **** to be pushed to shift and there is feedback in the **** of which gear is called for, the **** changes color (leds). This shifter greatly improved the fun of driving the car. Someone else installed an aftermarket shifter in a C5 which was a tight fit, there were photos of both posted on the Forum but a search today for A4 shifters only went back one year. I sent photos to Hurst but they never offered anything, I'm guessing the difficulty in changing the shifter without breaking the cable was the reason. They said unless it was very easy to install a product that too many customers would become frustrated and put the parts back in the box then return it to the store.

I'm in the process of making a C2 T-Handle Muncie shifter fit on my C5's A4. I've got all the bits, parts and measurements worked out on how to make it work.
Picking up a great billet shifter plate (see another posting on another thread herein) and combining the two. I think this is going to look real sweet.
The A4 shifter plates are being design now, by 'a source' and when I get back from this 'tour' of the middle east I'll put the two parts of the puzzle together. Most likely, November sometime.

I have a B&W Ratchet Shifter in Grond. NOT for the faint of heart!!! Requires welding and cutting of your tunnel.

That C6 shifter sure does look sweet.
