C5 owners, How many of you drove a C6?
I am not attempting to start a c5 vrs c6 thread. I have never drove a c6 and was curious just how different the cars are as far as performance/styling. z06/zr1 not included. Base C6 only. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I've only had the opportunity to drive C6 Z06s, so my opinion is skewed.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I've driven one at a dealership, I drove my cousins 07 and a clients 05. They're nice because they were new but it wasn't anything that caused me to lay awake at night and want one.

I've got quite a bit of seat time in the C6 and C6 Z06 driving them from our shop in Mundelein, IL to the dyno Naperville. The C6 Z06 is an unbelievable car. If I ever sell my car, that would be what I'd buy.

i have driven a bone stock c6 base 05' with ls2 and 6 speed.....
i like the way my c5 feels on the road better......feels tighter, and rides more like a sports car, the c6 felt like a caddy to me....

I bought my 02 Z06 new and was kind of relieved when the C6s came out because I didn't really care for the styling. When the C6Z came out without a major departure from the base body style I liked my FRC even more.
I've driven a couple of C6Zs and I must say I definitely like my C5Z better. I don't care for the hard pebbled plastic on the doors or dash, the switches seem cheap, the clutch felt very soft to me.
It sure didn't feel like it had 100 more HP but it's also a heavier car.
Over time the C6 looks have grown on me but not to the point that I'd get rid of my C5 for one.

drove both a C6 and the C6Z in February. Coming from a c5Z, there is no way on this green earth I would drive a non-Z06 C6. It had some pop, but you really had to step on it to feel anything. I guess the best adjective would be it feels "numb"

I rode in an '06 C6 Convertible 6 Speed. It was really nice. Like everyone above says, more refined.
Interior though ugly is tighter fit which is a bonus for creaking. Shifter was nice, the car drove well. The owner gave me "The Full experience" which to him was hard through first and second then really tight low speed figure eights.
It didn't impress me much over the C5 so for the money I went with a C5.

VeI've lost count how many.
Ls2 even with Z51 gearing is very lazy in the midrange. Both in throttle response and just pulling through the rpm range.
A c5Zo6 would eat one alive.
Ls3s are much better, but I think the LS6 intake is responsible for better response to stabs of the gas peddle.

I've driven my son-in-law's '08 coupe, when it was stock, and I really liked it. All the comfort options, including nav, and the seats were very comfortable. It did seem softer than my modded Z, and not that powerful. He since started modding it, with LTs, and a cam, but I haven't driven it since the mods. We're both in the process of installing Vortech systems, which will liven things up. I've grown accustomed to the C6 body style, and would not hesitate to buy one, if I ever got tired on my '02. Don't see that happening ever. The best thing about C6 styling... the front end enclosed lights. The worst thing... any C6 that doesn't have the C6Z's wide fenders.

I got rid of my C5 since I only drove my C6.
C6 > C5 in every way.

I bought a new C6 when they first came out. The car had so many issues GM bought it back. Glad to be back in a C5. As far as driving (when it would start), the C6 was a great driving car. Excellent low end torque and a very refined ride. Just too many gadgets like keyless doors and iginition. Both my C5 and C6 were 6 speed Z51 cars. I won't own another C6.

My neighbor has a C6. Haven't driven it, but I like the lines on the C5 better.
Hey, cool, I'm right over in Vernon Hills. What shop are you at?

I drove two, both convertibles, and 6 speeds; a 2005 and 2007, the '05 had 35K on it and the '07 had 5K on it. Don't like the interiors at all, find the C5 interior much more comfortable and "richer" looking. Also like the feel of the C5 better than the C6.

I drove the first C6 to hit the dealership in town. It was an auto (bummer) and it had it good points and bad. The MAJOR thing I hated was the looks of the rear end. Since thats what most people see....I will pass!
