Default JDM Vette

Just thought id share some stuff i stumbled upon a few days ago.

Ive always thought C5 vettes looked really 'Vanilla' as far as sports cars go without some nice wheels at a minimum. Most of the lips ive seen arent really that great and I generally dont like the front bumper on the c4/5 Vettes. I was looking for some alternate aero options in case i go down the c5 route.

What do you guys think? Japanese Style Corvettes Always cool to see a different take on cars.

Id love to see an American owners Vette with one of the Alex Racing Design front bumpers.

Japanese C5 Owners Club

LOTS of info there and easy to navigate as its also in English. Check out some of the interesting mods, led taillights and very extensive projector headlight conversion, very thorough

First three are actually pretty cool, next three are a little too overdone for my tastes. Gotta say, though, I'm intrigued by the taillights on that last pict. Thanks for sharing this! Always cool to see the passion for customization outside of the US.

Black and teal C4's are sweet. Front bumper on the red C5 is much better looking than the factory one.

if youre talking about it being raised close to the windshield , thats the style.

Supposedly, it lets out more hot air.

Perfect for track if that is what it is intended to be used for - if not then they can be a little wannabe - IMHO

I do like them but just not cup 'O tea

Thanks,Matt

I think it looks pretty sleek and more aggressive.

I'm not a fan of the stock front bumper..the corner lights just look a bit goofy. It looks like they just stuck all those features together in the design and hoped it would work. It's a very "busy" design. The C4's front bumper is sleeker.

Some of those are pretty nice, different. The second photo, red, C5, running on the track with his hood opened?

Those are fun to look at but I think that the front of the C5 isfine just the way it came.

The hood is still "closed", but the hood has been raised (via spacers/washers) in order to let more heat escape from the engine bay. Whether or not it works... who knows. As someone briefly mentioned, it's a Japanese tuner thing... You'll even see a few JDM fanatics here in the U.S. do it, too. And ricers.

It's a heat extraction hood to begin with. It's really tough not to say Ricey in this thread...

not my style at all. the one looks like it's trying to hard to be a Ferrari, and the rest look like they just bolted stuff up there so it would look different. more of a Honda thing in my opinion.
