Either:
1. A 1988-1990 Mercedes Benz 500SL, or
2. A 1994 BMW 640/650, or
3. A late 1990's air-cooled Porsche 911.

All are classics. The Benz is readily available at low cost, and parts aren't a big issue. The Bimmer - just the opposite and a bieatch to work on, but wow, what a classic design. The Porsche - somewhere in the middle.

If I had to pick an American-built car, it probably would be a new -2011 or newer - Mustang GT. Just like my C5 I could start with a blank canvas and update it to my personal taste.

Cadillac XLR, it has the top and interior that the C5 should have had, even optional. A C5 at it's core but a nice cruiser, I suspect the Northstar makes it a little nose heavy. Later maybe they're still high $30K, C6 prices, which is another option.

IF, I could only have 1 CAR, and it was a daily driver it would be a
BMW M3. I had a CTS just sold it and bought a BMW 325i Sport Wagon.
But if it was 1 car only M3.

If something were to happen to my C5, I'd be putting money down on the new C7 or a Callaway C6.

New Stang Boss 302

or

The nicest Infiniti G35 I could find and then mod fever! I just love that look of that car. Much better than the newer G37. I believe another update to that car is due for 2014 also.

Having 8 Corvettes over the years I made a detour and had a Miata MX5 for a few years. Sure it's a RICE BURNER but with only 175 Hp it out performs our Detroit Iron in the Autocross on a regular basis. I'm told there is no substitute for horsepower but these low budget rockets got my attention and I would still have one if I didn't spring for a C5 vert.

On the right track a Go Cart would beat a C5. Does that mean you'd want a Go Cart?
