Default Non-glare Dash Treatment

The dealer where I got my C5 did a half-assed 'detail' on it while I was doing the paperwork, and now the dash is shiny, like polished-granite shiny...I can barely see through the windshield when the sun is at certain angles.

It's been decades since I last had this problem with a car, so I'm not up on the latest chemicals. Any recommendations for the right stuff to fix this?

I've been using ArmorAll's non-shiny detailer wipes.

http://armorall.com/products/view_pr...ry_index=wipes

I also have the original, shiny stuff, but use it on only door/window seals and hoses.

You can try watered down simple green to remove whatever the dealer used. After that, just water and a microfiber works well for me. No reason to grease up the dash, just attracts dust and looks terrible.

If you want non-greasy, anti-static, UV protection, you can't go wrong with interior products from Adam's Polishes. Check out the site and video.

I use this and Chemical guys innerclean very similar both work very well. Careful with armorall they have been known to fade your trim or create a milky look on it!

I use Adams, interor detaler, it works great, just got my first bottle, cleans and protects w/o the high shine. I've heard on here that 303 protector is good too, but have not tried it, I think availbe at marine stores

I'm very happy with the Aerospace 303 protectant. Beautiful satin finish and non-glossy/shiney!

I'd wipe it down as many times as needed with a damp microfiber and protect with 303.

303 is a great product for the dash or for the inside of the car. It is horrible for the outside of the car, tires or underhood. it only last a few days outside, but for the interior it leaves a nice satin finish. if you already have 303 that great. there is a better product , that is if you are going to buy something. it's Zaino Leather in a bottle, it has the same non greasy satin finish as the 303, it last as long in the cabin but...... the Zaino has that wonderful new car leather smell that is priceless. the smell adds a layer of worth that just blows away the 303

303 didn't last three day on the exterior of my wife's SUV.

Yep. I pretty much only use the 303 only on the dashboard section. I use Adams VRT on the tires/hoses/rubber and I use Zaino on my VE leather seats/trim.

I use a mixture of Adams and Zaino on the exterior. Primarily Adams polishes and premium Americana wax on the paint. Adams Metal Polish 1 & 2 on the wheels and exhaust and Zaino Z8 Grand Finale for detail on both the paint and CCW wheels.

That is until I work out an endorsement deal...

Yep. I have issues!

To get that protectant off the dash, I've used a soft cloth and some very mild dishwashing soap (Ivory/Dove). Put the soap in some water, moisten the cloth and then wipe the dash area down - the cloth does not have to be dripping with water - only moist. Then go back over the dash with a dry cloth. Has worked well for me to make the dash less shiny.

Thanks. I stock up about every two years when they have a sale around Father's Day to cut down on the shipping costs.

I don't have OCD. I had just installed the Gladiator wall cabinet and put all the car care supplies that were sitting in boxes all over the garage into the cabinet so that's as neat as they have every looked.
