Default "Pull key wait 10 seconds" and LMC5

Hi All ,,
Back in the fall I had installed an LMC5 in my 2001 to get rid of the service lock/ pull key...today I was detailing my engine compartment a little and when I went to pull the car in the garage I got that dreaded warning again and the car stalled...I pulled the key and waited the 10 seconds...the car was fine after that...any input from anyone ??...I thought I wouldn't have any more issues with this ???....thanks !!!

I have put in both the lmc5 and another sold by a gentlemen in califonia and still have the dreaded pull key for 10 sec. Don't know what else to do, so I will just be patience and enjoy the car. I have a 99 FRC made I think in sept, '98.

Call them. You might need the other version of the LMC5. My car did.

Good point by pewter99. I too installed a CLB on the '00 I had and 6 years later when I sold the car it was still working just fine. Never had any problems with the column lock issue.

Ed,
Thanks !!..I looked at their website and they make an "unlocker" which I don't need...my column doesn't lock and I don't hear the actuator lock when I remove the key !!...I'll call them anyway.

For a few bucks more have a tuner take out the 2MPH shut off and you will not have to worry about it.

That's happened on mine a few times after installing the LMC5... the locking ring was disabled on mine, so when the pull key wait ten seconds pops up, that's what I do.

I wasn't referring to the unlocker. They make a different version of the LMC5 for the oddball cars, such as mine. I think it's called the LMC5R.

If you are pulling out and putting back in the key too fast, you'll get the Pull and wait 10 seconds. I had it once when I was testing my LMC5. Other than that one instance, never again. As stated above, they have another (or two versions) for oddball cars. I've never heard of those versions not working.

Those BCM's are sensative.

I had to get the version with the extra wire in my 02 Z06.

No problems, 8 months after install.

Now, if my pesty gas gauge could work consistant...

Ben
