Looks like most of the country that still kills inmates are in the South, that's what it means.
Death penalty never stops crime and costs society more than keeping the offender in Jail for life. Look how well it works in the Middle East where they BEHEAD PEOPLE in public.
No civilized society should allow it.

There have been instances whereby a murderer has been released and kills again or orders a hit from prison. People opposed to the death penalty have blood on their hands surely as those who are for the death penalty when an innocent person is executed.
One innocent death is one too many but I would be willing to bet that the ratio of convicted murderers who kill again out of prison or while in prison to innocent executed is probably 1,000 to 1 if not more.
Death penalty opponents are always arguing about inhumane executions. This is just an excuse to delay executions. They should just shoot the murderer in the back of the head. Not all of this nonsense with mixing drugs together. How much can one bullet cost?

It does not matter if it stops crime or not. It's about justice. Once the legal system has run its course (trial and appeals), the appropriate sentence should be carried out. Unfortunately many death penalty opponents cloud the justice system.

It's not justice if you kill an innocent person by mistake, not worth the risk. Should be abolished, looks like it will be soon by that map.
You want RETRIBUTION, not JUSTICE. You probably would have been happy in the old west, kangaroo court, a tree and some rope (oh, forgot, that was the SOUTH here not too long ago too).

Sorry, but if you kill (first degree murder) you have forfeited your right to live.

just look at that chart someone posted, only one person on there was executed within 10 years of being sentenced... so how can it be cheaper to provide them with food, water, shelter, cable tv, and whatever else they have for years on end as opposed to executing them... a 100 round box of winchester white box .45 fmj's is about $30, so .30 a round and just one of those would do the trick... that one box would be enough to execute everyone on that chart and then some!... the governemnet can get a better deal on them than we can, even cheaper if they reload them... forget all the fancy mixing of chemicals and basically letting them die in their sleep, I guarantee you those criminals didn't give their victims the royal treatment

Looks to me like you need to recount, keeping in mind that the "South" traditionally ends at Texas. There are more red, orange, and brown states north and west of the so-called Mason-Dixon line than there are below.

Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, ... aren't "South"??? Where you been???

Innocent people get convicted ALL THE TIME

Since the death penalty really does NO REAL GOOD, why not get rid of it.

to feed and house this skum for the next 60 years

Would not change my mind one iota, 60 yrs in prison is not exactly a vacation. Bet most lifers don't do 60yrs before they die anyway. AND it would still be CHEAPER to house/feed them for 60yrs, than pay for all the appeals since generally the government has to pay ALL the lawyers.
