AND, the owners manual has a lot of GREAT info in it, he should use it AND this question has been asked and answered many time, he could have searched for the answer too.

And what would it tell him? The owners manual makes no mention of an in-cabin air filter. The problem is, I've owned two other cars that did have in-cabin filters, and there was no mention of one in either car's owners manual.

When I bought my 99 it had been stored for over a year and smelled really stale from the vents. I sprayed some Lysol disinfectant in the intake screen in front of the driver side wiper with heater on and blower on high, it took several treatments, but the stale smell finally left. Just a tip that was passed to me 2 yrs ago.
