Default Hands free bluetooth

I have been searching the forum for a way to add hands free bluetooth and nav to my droptop 02 without changing the stock radio head unit. I just found a possible solution at:
http://www.isimplesolutions.com/TranzItBLUHF/
They have a video demonstration of the device that looks to be exactly what I am looking for. Once the phone is paired you can leave it in your pocket if you wish and control calls, text and nav through voice recognition on the phone and the audio is transmitted to the radio, on a frequency that you designate, so it mutes the radio and plays through the car speakers.
Only question I have is how well the mike hears me with the top down. I will post results when I get it installed. Available for less than a hundo on amazon or ebay. If anyone has experience with this unit let me know.

Got mine from Dennis a Double D mods and it works great... also got the Kicker upgrade speakers while I was at it and it really helped the stereo out...plus being able to play ipod, pandora, or whatever...
It's all PLUG and PLAY... no cutting, no tapping, just plug it in and go...

I made a hand gesture controlled blue tooth device. Needs an Aux input though.

If you're into electronics you could adapt the bluetooth chip and just wire it into your stock radio, not that tough. Shouldn't be much harder than adding an AUX input jack.

Where does this plug in to? Does it utilize the AUX portion of your stock radio?

The 30 pin adapter cord from Double D just plugs into the back of the radio OR just plugs into the 12 Disc CD Changer in the trunk if you have one... then you just buy the 30 pin Bluetooth receiver and plug it on to the Adapter cord... very simple...

The TranzIT Blu HF does offer a few more features... but requires a little more for install... both look like very good quality, user friendly ways to upgrade your C5 for smart technology

Installation Instructions for the

TranzIt BLU HF

1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the iSimple ISFM2351 as your smartphone connection solution.
TranzIt BLU HF uses a Bluetooth connection to route your calls through your vehicle for a
great hands-free calling experience. Answer incoming calls or launch VR to access your
smartphone’s functions at the press of a button, without handling your phone. Enjoy your
favorite music without the hassle of wires cluttering up your vehicle. ISFM2351 streams
your music to your car’s sound system wirelessly and provides easy playback control;
including play and next track.

b. Microphone
c. Control Button
d. Wiring Harness

. Installation
I. Microphone
TranzIt BLU HF has a small microphone which will be used for your hands-free calling.
Mount this microphone where it will have clear line-of-sight of the driver, and is not otherwise
obstructed. Typically the best microphone performance is achieved with the microphone
mounted high in the vehicle by the headliner, or sun visor. The microphone includes a clip so
it can be slipped onto the sun visor.
II. Control Button
A small control button is included with the ISFM2351 for controlling your smartphone’s
most common functions. This button should be mounted somewhere within easy reach
of the driver. This will button will be used to access features of the Smartphone, and
control music playback without having to handle the smartphone. Please keep in mind,
the controller is designed to be a safety feature for the driver, therefore it should be easily
accessible providing quick control and minimal distraction. The control button has different
functions based on the “mode” of the TranzIt BLU HF. The controls for these modes are listed
under section 5 User Operation.
III. Wiring (Choose Option A or B)
The ISFM2351 is compatible with any vehicle with an auxiliary audio input. Simply use the
connection method described below, under the section titled “option B.”
For vehicles that do not have an aux input, the ISFM2351 is designed to connect to the
back of your radio in-line with your vehicle’s antenna. The TranzIt BLU HF disconnects the
incoming antenna when in use, to deliver the cleanest possible audio from your phone. This
routes your phone’s calls and music to the FM station 98.1, or any radio station you choose,
using the free TranzIt BLU HF application for your smartphone. For this type of installation,
continue reading the following section, “Option A”.

If you haven't upgraded the speakers... it's worth doing. I did the Kicker just because I live close to their headquarters and felt I should support them... and they sound MUCH better than the Bose speakers... but I would do the Alpine or Polks if I wasn't so loyal... they would probably be even BETTER...Got the speaker Kit from Dennis at Double D mods ... again it's just plug and play.

right....but you hit the "AUX" button on your radio to use it correct? It sounds like it's the same set up as adding iphone/ipod connectivity but you connect a bluetooth adapter instead of your iphone/ipod. I tried to install the iphone/ipod portion in the past and after many hours of troubleshooting (with Dennis over email) he determined that most likely I had a problem with the AUX function within my stock radio. So unfortunately that means I have to find a different direction for getting connectivity for my devices.

Maybe one day.. it's time to start saving a for a new(used) daily driver unfortunately. This little device is going to give me a lot of joy though, so cool. Thanks again for sharing. I can't believe how good it sounds.
