well, that sucks... looked like a very pristine car. Had to be very humiliating.

As many times as I've stood at that very spot watching the cars, I've yet to see a crash (obviously missed this weekend). Glad he's okay (outside of his ego).

Do you know? Or are you just assuming his active handling/TC was turned off? Perhaps he put too much faith in it.

do a youtube search of "cars and coffee crash dallas" and there are a handful of videos... some people aren't too bright to begin with and when you get them in large groups then naturally stupid things are going to happen

I doubt active handling would have saved him in that scenario since he lost it so fast. Pedal was probably to the floor the entire time, up until the very end.
Too bad, it looked like a beautiful car. It happens so quick.

Almost happened to me the first time I drove my z. Ever since then I learned how to control the vette at different speeds/RPMs.
Scary feeling. A couple of inches from a wall.
Anyone know if that was an automatic trans?
Bet he wishes that tow truck that passed by was going to pick him up.

Safety Car
When a car starts to slide and the driver snaps out of the throttle while counter steering, the car suddenly regains traction and sends the car in the direction the front tires are pointed. The inertia then carries the car to spin it in the direction of the original counter steer, as what happened here.
Staying in the throttle probably would have saved this guy

That dude was in shock, did you notice how his car just kind of rolled up on the curb by it self after the hit. He must have been devastated, I'm thinking he did not have the car that long...... like someone else said, all he had to do was lift to live another day and get use to how the car responds!

This is literally the opposite of what happened here. If he had stayed in the throttle and tried to power out he would have spun the other way.

Sucks. Some guy in Houston jumped the curb in his truck destroying his $4k+ set of wheels yesterday.
These events are getting less and less interesting to me as too many people with little to no class show up as they get more popular.
