Which Lowering Bolts?
Hey Guys,
I want to lower my coupe, and from the research i've done, i dont think the stock bolts are going to cut it. So im in the market for some lowering bolts, but I quickly realized that there are MANY brands out there.
So Im checking with you Vette Master's . Which ones do you guys suggest, and also please post a pic of your lowered C5 with the respective lowering bolts.
Thanks in advance,
Nick

Yes, the stock bolts wont lower it enough. I want lower. The pics of cars I've seen lowered with OEM bolts still have too much wheel gap IMO.

The only problem with the obsession everyone has to slam a car is, even though it looks better, it only defeats the whole purpose of have a great "driving" car. It drops the roll center, changes the camber rate, increases bump steer, and the spring rates go the heII when it bottoms out.

This thread is not labelled "should I, or shouldn't I lower my vette, now is it?
Do you have any suggestions/pics on lowering bolts?.......

Since you've already made up your mind, simply measure the stock bolts, then go to a local hardware supplier and get a pair of Grade 8 bolts that are 1" longer, a pair of corresponding nylock nuts, and 4 flat washers......

Just measured mine, that I took out, because the car was too low. What you need exactly, are 9/16's by 7 inch grade 8 bolts, 1/2 dozen grade 8 washers, and nylock nuts. Probably have to go to an actual bolt supply store to find them. I think it cost me $20.
