Nice, very nice.
Great color, including the interior.
I always felt the torch red convertibles look crappy with a black interior.
Red just makes it right.
Now, a little favor to ask.
Please when talking about your Vette, drop the "she", and "her" crap.
Your car has no vagina, therefore it is not a she.
Matter of fact, it has absolutely no gender, it is a machine.
I know it is personal taste, but I would think twice before putting a bra on a Vette.
In my opinion, they look out of place.
The only car that ever looked good with a bra on it was a 79 or 80 black Trans Am.
Best of luck with your "new" convertible.
I also have an 04 convertible.
Bob.

Yes, you are right, those are the fake painted caliper covers, I just haven't decided if I want to remove them and paint the original calipers yet. I'll probably do something with them over the winter, as the brakes have a slight pulsation, which I'm assuming is glazed pads or rotors. I might bite the bullet and just get all new pads and rotors.
Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments. I think I did okay on it, it drives great, and is tight and quiet on the road. Looking forward to making sure it stays that way.
As for the Red on Red, it really is something that looks a lot better in person than most pictures show it. My wife was questioning my decision until she saw it, and now she's on board. (though she still says the interior looks like brothel )
Thanks again,
Mike

Hey Mike truthfully I really miss the 6 speed action sometimes (my Red '66 coupe was a built 454/4 spd)...man that thing was like a bullet.
I also had a Red '72 'Vert w/factory 454/4 spd and for 4 yrs I had a gorgeous '88 C4 'vert (Red of course) with the infamous 4+3..
But my shifty days are mostly over and I don't fear the frequent Vegas traffic jams with my new '99 Pewter Slushbox.
Enjoy your new Red Sled..!!!

Congrats on the new ride! I actually like the red on red, you don't see too many of them!
One of my favorite seats in the house is the detailing stool in the garage. My wife doesn't even ask anymore what I am doing when I am just sitting in the garage after a wash/detail. Also a great place to enjoy a cold beverage! And if you finish the garage and put some corvette swag on the walls it becomes even nicer!

awsome! going on 11 year love affair with mine. One of the best mods i did on mine was to do the frost king mod. I insulated everything including the doors. Made a huge difference top down or up. Best wishes

Congratulations on your purchasing first Corvette. I had a new 1981 red on red and I love the combo.

Its not just red it's "TORCH" red, IMHO the most fantastic red available on a sports car. Always loved that color and with the black roof excellent combo. I would ditch those caliper covers and paint the calipers black (easily done) Get acquainted with your Corvette then think about mods ...(or better yet take your wife or G/F on a beautiful vacation instead, lol)
Here is wishing you many happy miles/smiles with your new baby! Greetings, Rob
