Crazy Question on Infra Red Windshields
Perhaps I’m dreaming, or going nuts, but wasn’t there a move afoot on the part of GM, to put Infra red windshields and sensors in top of the line Caddy’s and Corvettes a few years ago?
I thought that I’d see a commercial about it. Deer in the road etc.
Anyone have any recall of this?
Regards.

I was pretty naive when I heard about this technology and thought the night vision images would overlay what we saw through the windshield the way some of the military systems do. However, since it's just a night vision video camera image being projected on the lower part of the windshield, I think it's really more of a distraction like a DVD than a benefit like the HUD is.

I remember that Caddy commercial too! They made it look like an overlay on the windshield.
That would be a GREAT addition to the HUD.
Deer around here make me

Check Lingenfelter's web site. They have a night vision package that can be added to any car...around $3,000 or so the last time I looked at it. WAY to much for me. But, some of you that live in Deer Country, it might help.
