What Should Your Oil Pressure Be...
What should you oil pressure be at idle when your engine is at operating temp. (180-195 degree range)? After changing my oil with Mobil One 5w30 and installing a Baldwin oil filter my oil pressure at idle is only 35 psi. Before changing the oil and filter (same type oil and A/C PF46 filter) my oil pressure was 36 psi at idle.

Your oil pressure is just fine. Mine registers about 36 psi at idle.

What would be considered low? At idle mine is at 28psi, but jumps up with a little gas.

Oil brand and filter brand can make a slight difference one way or the other.

Mine is around 60 at idle when cold, When warm at idle it is about 35 ish and at speed warm 50, I use RP 5/30.

General rule of thumb is 10psi per 1k rpm. Oil pressure will increase with rpm because your camshaft spins the oil pump. Cold oil pressure will always be higher than hot. I am not 100% sure but I think GM's spec is something like 6psi at idle. Hope this helps

I once checked the minimum pressure in the Shop Manual. Amazingly its only 6 psi
Mine is about 35 psi but drops a little as the oil gets old.
