Default 97 c5 411 pcm swap problem

Whether its because i have bad luck, or i just suck at this, i fried 2 pcm's in my 97 c5 during the tuning process. i just bought a 411 pcm out of an 01 c5 and repinned the harness. i have two spots in the connectors that wires are supposed to go, and i have two extra wires that need a home.

one is "Engine oil pressure. circuit number 331." it calls for tan/white wire
other is "Requested torque signal. circuit 463 and calls for an orange/black wire.

the two extra wires that i have is a tan wire and a gray wire. i went thru the the pinout to make sure that every color wire was where it belonged. i dont have any orange/black wires where they dont belong or any tan/white wires out of place either.

does anyone know how i can go about figuring out where i went wrong, or how i can figure this out?

also, i read the vcm to send my tuner the stock tune that was on it. it took hptuners 27 minutes to read the vcm. it usually only takes 30 seconds. any ideas? thanks in advance!

Default PCM help

Circuit 331 should have been on Blue connector slot 53 from factory, and goes to red connector slot 58 on the new pinout, if you dont see it unplug the connector (from under the intake , kinda hard but i have unplugged it many times like that) and check for continuity from the TAN/WHI wire to the pcm.

IS your car a stick or auto?

Circuit 463 should go on blue connector slot 13. if you cant find it you will have to go to the EBCM and find the orange/BLK wire in slot 12 of the EBCM connector and check for continuity and the pcm on one of the orange and black wires, i hope this helps i have doen one of these psm swaps and is very easy to get mixed up.

My car is a stick. Yes, those are the two spots that are missing the pins. Blue 13 and red 58. Somehow I must have mixed up wires. I'll take the intake off tonight and check that. Then I'll move to th ebcm. Thanks!

Just curious why you chose to update your ECM----Can you tell more about your engine mods and what you think your crank or RWHP is ??

I'm doing an email tune. He sends me a tune, I data log and send him the info, he sends me another one etc. Idk what I'm doing really so I fried 2 pcms. I heard the newer ones aren't as easy to ruin. But I also heard a bench tune can fix them

411 pcm have a faster processor, and if a calibration goes bad in between the process it can rewrite itself older ones are a one time shot

In my opinion the 97-98 ECM on a C5 are just fine----The only time I would update one is if you had a super charger or turbo and you exceed the MAF table---A stock 97 ECM is just fine for any car with less than 500 crank HP----The 411 swap is mostly intended for 97-98 Silverado's that used the old "L31" computer which was extremely slow and didn't have enough tables to tune a modded engine----The 97-98 Corvette however did not use the L31 computer----It uses the "LS1A" computer which is light years ahead of the Silverado ECM and plenty good to handle an with a cam/hds update----
If you are frying ECM's I suspect you have other issues such as a bad ground or bad wiring---Not the fault of the ECM-----just a 17 YO car's wiring----

my car has a turbo. will the 01 pcm work with the 97 bcm? i've got the car to run, but its not firing on the passenger side bank. i have spark, fuel and compression, good valve train and good grounds, but the passenger side just doesnt fire. i've swapped injectors and coils to either side and still nothing.
