Default More codes…what is up with my ride??

The winter is kicking the crap out of my car. I need to get a garage but that's a different issue...Anyway..

P0153 C Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Slow Response Bank 2 Sensor 1
P1416 H C Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Bank 2
B0432 H Rear Defogger Relay Circuit
B0332 H Outside Air Temp Sensor Short to GND
B0337 H Inside Air Temp Sensor Short to GND

I reset my codes this morning before my drive to work, and then checked them when I arrived. The codes listed above are the ones I received. I didn’t get any “check” lights at all.
The P1416 code I got before and I’m working on getting the parts for the air check valve. All the others are new. Does this look list a grounding issue or should I check each thing? The defroster and heater worked just fine on my way to work this morning. I’ll clear the codes before my trip home and then look again to see what’s up.

You have a 97 and it looks like it could be a daily driver! I had a 98 and drove it a lot! Never a garage queen! I started to develope some serious electrical issues early last year (late winter/early Spring)

I found that 90% of my problems could be traced down to bad Chassis Grounds! There are 13 chassis ground points. If any of them are compromised, you will have electrical issues. I was ready to drop some SERIOUS money in new electrical modules and componets to get the car to at least run! After an afternoon cleaning grounds, all I had to spend was a few bucks on some electrical cleaner!

The car runs FANTASTIC now. No issues!

Here is my post that I made after I fixed the grounds! This has helped numerous forum members fix some very weird electrical issues!

I do not believe your underhood light issue is common. There is a connector on the front passengers side of the radiator shroud. Make sure that it is properly connected. Do you have a Volt/Ohm Meter??

If it is properly connected, disconnect it and see if you have 12 VDC at the connector.

What is your expierence level working on electrical/electronics?

If you need help or have questions, please let me know.

I cleared the code before I drove home from work then checked them when I arrived at home (about 45 min drive). The only code I had was..P0153 C Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Slow Response Bank 2 Sensor 1. I had this code before and I'm ordering the parts. Cleaning the grounds sounds like a good idea anyway. As longs as it's above 40 degrees this weekend I'll give that a try.
I love my 97 and drive it as much as I can. It wouldn't be a garage queen even if I had a garage!!

I had the same code before I cleaned my grounds (had NO clue that they were bad) and could not get it to clear! Tried everything but no good! I needed to get the car through CT emissions. Time was about to expire so, I took it in even though the check engine would come on after it was started. It would allow me to get a fail and a 30 day extenson to work on it some more. Figured the cats and O2 sensors were shot!

Low and behold, I got the idea and motivation to clean the grounds!

Car ran so good after the grounds were cleaned, I took it back the next week and she passed with flying colors!! (No codes, no stalling, No more being stranded on the side of the road!!!)
Clean your under hood grounds before you spend any extra cash!

Sorry for the stupid question, but how do you clean the grounds ? take it apart and squirt WD-40 on them ? wire brush too harsh?

Anyone know what the grounds listed above are for, or is there somewhere to look?

Check out this thread it might help.

Use what ever you can to get the crap off the connectors...wire brush, sand paper (which I used)
It goes without saying to make sure the battery is disconnected if you are going to use a wire brush.
