Default DTC code C1287.....help please

....which is Steering Position Sensor Circuit. It is a current code. Am I getting this because I installed a CLB? Or is it due to something else?

Thanks,

Brad

Default

Shouldn't have anything to do with the column lock. A few things to try (I fought this myself) :

1. Make sure your steering wheel tracks straight when going straight. If it's off, it will set the code (so I'm told).
2. Get down on your back under the drivers side of the dash. Look at the base of the steering column and you will see the steering sensor. Make sure the connector is plugged all the way in.

#2 worked for me. When I pushed on the sensor connector it 'clicked' into place. I haven't had any problems since!
