Default Windshield cowl replacement

Anyone replaced your windshield cowling? Wondering how it's put in and where to get a replacement. I've seen a bunch of carbon fiber stickers that go over the top, but I just want a brand new not faded factory replacement. Thanks!

I haven't replaced it but, I'm sure the only place to get the OE one is from the stealership. It appears to be held in place by a few push pins.

Try Fichtner Chev @ 1-800-234-5284. Forum vendor; much cheaper. Ask for Bob in parts and be sure to mention you're a Corvetteforum member. Unless you live in Montana, it's tax free and their shipping costs are very reasonable.
The replacement is not too bad. Remove both wiper arm assemblies, push pins and I think there may be one two screws as well (the screw part I'm not sure of since it's been so long for me). BTW, you might want to have some 3M double sided tape on hand in case you need it. Get the 3/4" width and make sure it's the gray colored stuff (outdoor use). You may need it on the back side of the new plenum.
Tip: Start your wipers and kill the power when they are in mid-sweep. Mark the blade position with some masking tape on the windshield before removing.
HTH,
Robert

I've had mine out and painted it body color.

It's pretty easy. Remove wiper arms, disconnect a couple washer hoses, and remove the 4 or 5 push pins in the flat tray area of the cowl.

Slide it forward towards the engine to remove, as there are some tabs that slide under the windshield,

if you are replacing it because it seems faded there is a product by Mothers called back to black that will work miracles with your black plastics......

Sweet, I'll try that first. If that doesn't work the replacement sounds easy enough! CF kicks ***!

I know its an old thread but how does one remove the push pins? Also, do the wiper hoses just pop out if you pull hard enough on them? Thanks.

Pull out the center of the push pins, then it will become loose and come out. Correct about the hose for the wipers.
