We're going with a similar kit for other reasons:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-their-c5.html

We have a set on the way. My team is going to test these and maybe even come up with our own housing. I don't have any further details yet. Stay tuned.

I find this old topic...

I´m from Finland, Europe, and just bought original Velumen projector headlight kit from manufacturer. Unfortunately they had earlier some problem with server and the English installation manual destroyed.

I get the German manual, but because I don´t speak Deutch and Google translator can´t make a good translate from any technical manuals, I ask from you guys, if somebody have that English manual pdf-file ?

Thanks for your help !

Hi Juke,
I think that you can contact DomE on the Corvette German Forum
http://corvetteforum.de/profile.php?userid=4414&sid=

He is the guy who made that kit.

Here is a copy of his first message on a French Corvette Forum:

:" Hello Everybody,

let me introduce myself.

My name ist Dominic Fritz, and the Velumen Headlight Kit that Fabrice (exploratrice57) intrduced in this thread, was designed by me.

My french is not really good, so please let me write in english, and please answer me in english, too.

The Kit uses HELLA DE Lenses with E1-Mark and the Brackets, Gears and bezels are completly new and are High Quality handmade here in Germany. This is the reason why it is relatively expensive, this is not a "Made in China" part...

e.g the Bracket ist laser cutted steel, welded, zinc plated, black chromated and and additionally sealed with wax. The Bezels are made out od fibreglass and fit really good to the headlight cover.

The Headlights opens now just 85-90mm instead of 170mm original so the aerodynamic drag is reduced, too. The light output is increased by roundabout 50%

There is anothe kit that uses Hella Modules, designed a little bit later than ours... Very Happy it looks similar on the first look, but is completly different.

I don't want to write more about it, you can see a picture here:

http://corvetteforum.de/attachment.p...tid=13574&sid=

and this is ours:

http://corvetteforum.de/attachment.p...tid=20784&sid=

If you like, i can post some pictures of the kit, the production and so on.

Kind Regards,

Dominic"
Good luck

Hi jmz06,

Thanks for the links!

I know Dominic, the kit I purchased arrived today direct from him.
Unfortunately he haven´t English instruction manual anymore, just German-language.

But I think I can handle installation with pictures and Google-translator

Now I need to find very narrow H11 55W Xenon-bulbs for highbeams and high quality H9 55W Xenon-bulbs for before I star installation.

I will add some pictures this topic when installation is ready.

I agree with your issue. On my wife's Audi with xenons we had the same problem. I live in a very hilly area and I found myself using the hi-beams often to deal with this problem of the sharp cut-off. I'd still be interested in this system. I'd also like more details on the washer system too.

Hi,

great work! Awesome looking C5.
As I can see. you installed Xenon Bulbs into the H7 low beam housings.
With these change you have to take care, that the wires will not damaged by the coupling bars. You should use some binders to fix them out of the way.

Have fun and good light all time with your C5.

Kind regards

Birger

Old but just received my set. Amazing! I wish i could find shrouds to fit them. Also they are far and above the price of any other light as I have bought all of them.

Technology has changed since this post was started.

Fixed quad-HIDs are now much better:

These rise only 0.6 inches above the surface of the hood next to them.

And their light output is exceptionally good.

These look really good are they Radiofliers? Did you make some modifications to his? I think these are great but the car came with popups so I am putting the hella popups in instead of the fixed stealth lights i have right now.
