Default arp head bolts-what sealant?

I will be bolting my heads down with ARP head bolts soon. Is their any kind of sealant I should be using when doing it?

No sealant required as all the holes are blind holes (they end within the block casting and don't penetrate into a coolant or oil passage). However, to ensure a proper preload is obtained you should use the ARP Moly Lube during assembly. I would actually lube each bolt before the head is on, run it in and out of each hole to ensure that it goes in smoothly, then install the heads.

My arp head bolts also listed their moly lube and 30wt oil. The torque specs are different based on which lube you use. Make sure to use the correct torque specs.

I would only use the ARP Lube. We keep it in stock if you need a bottle.

Seth,

Quick question. Last time I ordered, it had to be shipped via ground and some were assessing a hazardous item fee. What are shipping requirements for this?

We have never had a problem with shipping items like this via truck. The only time I would see a problem is if it were going on an airplane.
