Default Reset AirBag Light

I had an small front end accident and both of my airbags deployed. It was totally unnecessary. No frame/engine/mechanical damage, just small body work. I have replaced both airbags and module. The airbag light is still on. Any advice to reset it/turn off the airbag light??? Thanks!

I have reseted many codes through the panel, but B1001 keep on appearing which controls the airbag light. I have a 2000 C5 coupe. Thank you!

You cannot clear an airbag light with a standard scanner. You will need to find somebody with a Tech 2. If you cannot find a shop or a buddy that has one, you will have to go to the dealership.

I think you will find the SDM module which records the crash and sometimes the steering wheel coil must be replaceed also they are what causes the codes to set.

Had a simiar issue as this so I will update here for others. In my case, I got the YOUCANIC scanner and read the codes from the airbag module. Even thought the airbag module was replaced and blown airbags replaced, there was a fault codes for the seat belt rectractor. Replaced that and used the same scanner again to clear the codes as there were no more current codes. Hope this helps someone in the future as it was driving me crazy.
