I need some help here guys! My 2000 needs a new alternator. It has the 110 amp french made Valeo unit that is not serviceable or so I have been told. You can not just put in a replacement from Autozone or Napa b/c the circuitry is not the same and will cause the " charge system fault" to show up in the DIC. The numbers off my alternator are as follows:

GM part # 10316182
Valeo # A14V139


There is a New Valeo 110 amp one on ebay but the numbers are different, they are :

GM part # 10246634
Valeo # A14V121

will this one work for me?

If you guys could look... what are the parts numbers on your cars??? 1999, 2000, and 2001. I think in 2001 they changed to the 145 amp unit and that wouldn't work for me unless I had the BCM re-flashed.

by the way, my 2000 is a coupe and is an automatic trans with the 3:15 performance axle... in case that makes a difference.

I don't know if getting an alternator from Ebay is a good idea.
What if there is a problem ?
I'd rather have mine rebuilt than changed.
There have been DIC issues in the past
