Default Duralast Wheel bearing?

I'm in need of a replacement for my drivers-side front wheel bearing. I called Auto Zone and they have a Duralast for $97 () and a Timken for $248 (a little more then I'd like to spend). I know the Timken is a quality piece, but I'm sure there has to be a cheaper alternative with the same quality? I've never heard of the "Durlast" brand, so any input would be appreciated.

I found this website also, anyone have any experience with these guys: www.corvettewheelbearings.com

Thanks!

Man 97 bucks for an entire hub is really cheap.

GM hubs are a lot more, I've heard of many using the timkens with good luck on here but haven't heard of any using the duralast yet.

I think they have a timken bearing/hub that can be bought for under 200 @ Autozone and that is the one that I'd go with.

I just looked at their website and it says that the timken is 248...do a search on here for timken wheel bearings and you should find where some say they're cheaper. Also, the price could have just gone up...

Are you sure these are Timken? They say they are made by "Wheel Bearings Inc." I bring this up because I bought front bearings for my previous 96 and they were junk...and dangerous. I tried to save some money needless to say.

Yep, I asked they guy from Corvettewheelbearings.com and they are Timken. He said they ship directly from Timken. They just get them at a better price..about $50 cheaper then the rest of the places I looked.

Duralast is the AutoZone house brand. You might ask them who makes it for them.

Many times if you set those parts side by side out of the boxes on the counter, you will find they are the exact same thing, right down to the part numbers.
