TPIS 90mm LS6 intake WORKS!
So after many months of being forced to run a lightly ported LS2 intake (long shady story), I finally decided to pull the trigger on a TPIS modded LS6, as luck would have it I found one on the forum (thanks to Mufflerbearing). So my set up is PRC 2.5 LS6 heads, EPS 226 cam,Vmax CNC LS2 tb,UD pulley,VR CAI
LG Pros catless and Custom Borla Multicore bullet straight pipes with a street tune. With the LS2 intake and the street tune my car was running way rich (for safety I'm sure), but my mileage sucked. Lucky to get 12mpg city and 21mpg on the freeway even trying to draft, coast and be as easy on the gas as I could. On the way to the shop i got 21mpg all freeway and a couple blocks of city streets. Today I had my TPIS intake installed with no change in the tune, reset the gauge and on the way back my average mpg got as high as 33.5 on the freeway and ended up at 25mpg even after driving thru the city. Needless to say even tho the original tune was pretty rich, for the TPIS intake flow so much more to lean the car out for a gain that large given the same 90mm throttle body is a testament to how well designed the LS6 is compared to the LS2. I am really excited for my dyno tune to get my final numbers. SOTP says I picked up a lot of torque. Didn't get on it enough to tell how much top end I picked up, but my guy said he has dynoed a stock LS2 after a LS6 and lost 9-10 rwhp. The TPIS mod is supposed to be worth about 20rwhp over a stock LS6. Looks like I need to find one those open roads in "Mexico"

Not sure what you gained but the TPIS cant be worth 20rwhp over a LS6. A fast doesn't even get most applications that much right?
I bet you may have got 20rwhp over your ls2 intake AND because you were rich.
We will see what I can put down with a EPS 226/230 cam in a few weeks

You probably right on the LS2 thing. Most who have dynoed have been between 18-21 hp, but I wont know for a while since the tranny took a ****.

Agreed, I put one on my 382. I went from a Halltech Stinger, stock MAF, Stock TB and LS6 intake to a Vararam, 85MM Z06 MAF, 90MM LS2 TB and a TPIS modified LS6 intake. I don't have actual numbers, however the butt dyno definitely noticed a big improvement. Dr. Phil did the tune when I built my 382, and I took it back to him after I made the intake changes. He said that he needed to add 10-12% more fuel across the board, along with some other tweaks. Drives like a dream.

I run a PP 78mm TPiS intake on my LS6 intake. Put mine on before the 90 option
