Default heater hose - heater core to surge tank

Anyone use the Gates 28411 straight heater hose to connect the heater core pipe (heater outlet) to the the surge tank t fitting? The gates is standard 5/8"

Gates Safety StripeŽ - Straight Heater Hose
Part Number: 28411
Line: GAT
5/8" x 50' (60 psi)

I read the proper GM part # is 12368235 but thats for a 50' roll.

btw - i ordered the Gates 18447 which is the heater hose for core to water pump housing

TIA!

The straight hose to the tee is an odd size (15.1mm IIRC) and some dealers that have it will only sell a complete roll and others keep it on hand for use by their service department on vehicles other than Corvettes, i.e. trucks, etc and will gladly sell you 2'. The odd size makes it too large to use common 1/2" and too small to use common 5/8" hoses. Thougha bit pricey ($5-$6/ft IIRC), that's still not too bad really since you only need about 19" (they sell by the foot).
