Default Time to change sway bar links in 2001 Z06

Mine is a 2001 Z06 and the front links are broken. Then, it is time to replace them.

I read here that most recent original Z06 sway bar links are a very good replacement for the 2001 Z06 ones.

Please let me know which is the best replacement.

Note: Car is stock with no intention to autocross. I just desire a better handling.

You need the 2013 metal end links, which you can order from Gene at GMPartsHouse.

I don't remember if the 2001 Corvettes still had nylon end links or not. If they are steel then they should be the same as later C5 end links. Just get a set from a 2004 Corvette, both front and rear.

2001 still had the plastic end links according to a member who owns one who posted that those on his Z06 were plastic. Considering the low cost for new end links why go with used, outdated links when better are available?

I did not imply he should buy used. I said he should get a set for a 2004 Corvette. Meaning contact a chevy parts dept, tell them you need end links for a 2004 Corvette.

My mistake, but this sure sounds like it:

"From" is the key word there. If you'd said "For" as you did in your reply to me it would not sound like you're advising the OP to get used parts from a 2004.

Either way, the 2013 links are better than 2004 links, and probably cost the same or near enough to justify going with the most recent C6 version.

Default Replaced stock sway bars with Z51 and used metal links about 3 years ago

The heavier bars made a difference in handling and I found some good used metal end links for a good price. Since you have a Z06 your bars are fine. Either the older or new metal links will be just fine. Just make the nuts as tight as you can get them otherwise they might clunk when driving. I wrapped the bars under the bushings with several layers of plumbers Teflon tape to prevent squeaks. If you bars aren't squeaking just replace the end links. About 2002 all vettes had all metal end links. Some vettes had metal end links on one bar and plastic on the other. If your rear links are plastic replace them too.

I wish I had as much time as you.

No, you don't. It took nearly getting killed and being left permanently disabled to come by the time I have, and it's no picnic.

Thanks for the reply but I still need some help. Do I need to order regular 2013 end links or 2013 Z51 end links?

"Just make the nuts as tight as you can get them otherwise they might clunk when driving."
Do I need to apply more torque that the one established in the manual to the end link nuts?

Is there any improvement on handling changing my Z06 sway bar to a Z51 sway bar?

The zo6 bars are better than the z51 bars is my understanding. As far as the links go. Just look up your car on one of parts vendors and they will get you the right ones. A lot of the time they are on special and really cheap. Check gmpartshouse or gmpatsdirect

Thanks for the referral. You can order at the link below on our site. All 2013 end links are the same for all sway bar and suspension packages.

Default From what I have read on the forum the links can still be noisy if tightened to spec

I tightened them as much as possible with a 1/2" ratchet and socket.
Mine don't make noise. Look on here for other comments.
The 2013 metal links are supposed to be "better" but the other ones work just fine.

Thanks you all for the help / support. I will go with the 2013 ones and retain my Z06 sway bar.

I used the link provided, thanks you but, I got confused:
Do I need to order by site: one for front left and one for front right?
Or Does it come in a set: front set (which includes both left and right)?

You'll need to buy a quantity of (4) and it doesn't matter which side, front or back, as they are all the same.
