This is an issue I noticed more-so during the winter so I think temp has to do with it. When the car warms up it pretty much goes away. Anyways, when I put the car in 3rd the shifter kind of chatters in my hand but it goes in. It doesn't grind necessarily, but it feels close. If I shift slowly into 3rd, meaning, have it in the gate with light pressure and let it fall in once the synchros allow it, 3rd doesn't have that chatter to it.

Is it just simply the 3rd gear synchro is going?

Appears to be the synchro.

Snip the fuse in an led indicator style fuse. Practically free and no warning lights.

God i hope he fixed it by now. He had 8yrs. And i love how they don't tell us how they resolved it. Absolutely zero help for people with the same or similar problems in the future looking for help.
