$10 and 15 minutes
two prong flasher unit, cut OEM feed (Pink) and output (Purple) wires going up into the Hazard switch and installed female spade lugs unto the wire ends. Connected them to the flasher unit

If I am correct, you now do not have the "Hazard" feature that works?

If with your "fix" you still have the Hazard function work, then your Hazard flasher IS working.
If you were having a turn signal issue then it was with the switch contacts where the pink wire feeds the flasher and not the actual flasher unit. I have proven that several times.
I think the reason people can exercise the Hazard switch and get their turn signals to work is that the contacts are bad and not the flasher. I doubt the flasher is bad in most cases but "it" gets blamed.

OK guys, I have relooked at the circuit and it appears the Hazards will function since the new flasher will "back feed". However, it will not do it as designed. You must have the ignition ON. It should not work otherwise.

The hazard on position of the switch uses the orange for power and the brn, lt blu and dk blu wires to feed the signal lamps. The pnk and ppl wires aren't used at all in the hazard position.
Look inside the hazard switch box. With those contacts switched to the right (right is the hazard on position) the pnk wire is not connected. Look at the signal indicator switch. With it in the center position, the ppl wire isn't connected.

all I can tell you is the flashers didn't work....fking with the hazard switch got them to work occasionally....but that wasn't feasible everytime you needed them to work.....I did the above fix and now everything works everytime and has worked fine for almost a year.
YMMV

Also if you have LED hyperflash Pewter99's fix will work too, you just need to chose a relay similar to used in the OPs.

That was what I thought originally. Then, I got stupid somehow when he had hazard flashing and thought he had "Tee'd" into the purple wire. He did not do that.

Yeah, my led hyper flash is getting more frequent, and now sometimes the turn signals won't flash at all. When this happens, I can just tap the hazards on/off for a second then the signals work again. So do I understand correctly that the OP's $70 fix will remediate both issues?
Thanks

I just replaced my hazard switch with an oem one and while it wasn't exactly fun, it took me less than 30 minutes. Follow the instructions in this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...placement.html

Now it falls on me. Does anyone have a pic of the plug location or instructions in case it's harder to find than I think................
Thanks in advance, Randy

Question for you guys who've added the 2 prong relay. I did this and it has cured the hyper flash issue w/ turn signals however the 4 ways will still hyper flash UNLESS I have a turn signal on. Any input on that? I'm going to check the wiring diagrams but it seems people have successfully done what I'm attempting so it is probably some oddity.
I used an EFL-2 LED flasher.
Thanks
Dave
