Default Early C5 ABS control module

The Net is replete with woes about failing ABS control modules on '97 thru '00 C5s, and neither fixes nor replacements available. So what's everybody doing? Parking their cars? Driving as is? Jury-rigging by-passes? As the owner of a '99 with the problem, I'm sure hungry for info.

Many just drive with the lights on.

Not all that hard to find. I know of a V code one for sale now at $597.00.
Just have to look around. 1999-2000 active handling unit. Non active handling M code ones are usually easier to find though. Took me a couple of days to find one when mine went out. The lights after a while drive you nuts. Not to mention the 3 DIC codes that pop up at every start. Would be nice to have a way to bypass it all though. This is an ongoing problem as you can see with all the EBCM threads popping up.

My 2k FRC has the code 1255. As far as I can tell I'm SOL. Manuel states it is an internal EBCM (processor) failure, replace ECBM.

What it didn't say was "Sucker."

CODES will get you better answers.. Maybe its NOT a failed EBTCM but a lesser sensor issue!
