Default Brake pads

Does it matter with the orientation of the pad wear indicator (squealer tip)?

Install the brake pads to the caliper bracket. The brake pad wear sensor, mounted on the inboard brake pad, must be positioned so that it is in the trailing position during forward rotation of the brake rotor.

Which one is the trailing position top or bottom?

Care to elaborate?

The leading edge of a brake pad is the one that may be thought of as first touching the rotor as it turns. If the calipers are mounted behind the wheel axis, the bottom pad edges will lead.
