Default Car won't start unless I disconnect and reconnect battery

My 01 z has developed a issue where it will not even attempt to turn over unless I disconnect the ground and reconnect it.
When when this happens the power windows won't work, the trunk won't open, the column won't unlock and the dic displays reduced engine power. Dic also displays low fuel when the gauge reads half
I replaced the battery its measuring 12.4 volts
No security light is flashing
Once the car is running. Everything works as it should.

My first guess, and only a guess, is a bad negative connection on the terminal.

Well. I know the car pretty well. I know how to check for codes and all that jazz.
When the car was running I checked for codes. Nothing out of the ordiany
I have a no comms on radio because of my stupid aftermarket bead unit.
Later on in the day when the car wouldnt start I checked the DIC no comms with the bcm. So I pulled the cover off passenger floor. Found a Mouse nest. Some of the wires are chewed bare.
My car gets driven ofter. I keep it clean but not spotless like most vette owners. I found no evidence of mice before and my garage is full of glue traps and I've never cought a mouse.

Your issue revolves around the BCM. It is either:

Wet
Has been wet
Has corrosion on the circuit board
Had damaged/chewed wires

Fix the wiring issues and then see where you are at.

Check for the other issues also/

Had the bcm out and inspected it. It shows no signs of ever being wet. Inside or out. The circuit board looks brand new.
What I noticed today while doing some serious digging into the wiring on the passenger side, is that when I first insert the key. The bcm clicks. ( i assume its reading the chip on the key)When. I turn the key the column unlocks and car starts.
When the bcm is in its no comms state it is not recognizing the key being inserted.
I personally believe it's something before the bcm. For example in the ignition switch and or its wiring.

For the BCM to report NO Comms,, something has to be wrong with:
1. The BCM
2. The serial Buss

Are there any other WEIRD things going on when the BCM reports NO COMMS. Like no operations with the door functions & windows, IPC Gages, HVAC????

The HVAC also reported no comms in tandem with the bcm reporting no comms. When the battery is disconnected and reconnected. What's causing the bcm to magically work again. . if the car sits for 10-15 mins. No chance it will start unless is cycle battery connection.

You have a corrupted serial data bus. It is most usually caused by issues with the LDCM, RDCM, SEAT Module.

The electrical connection for each of those modules is suspect.

Start with the door control modules. Pop out the rubber tube between both doors. Fish out the connectors from the hole in the door A Pillar. Disconnect the connector with six wires. Examine the FEMALE PINS. Some will be spread apart thus making poor contact with the male pin. That will be the cause of your issue, Same for the seat power plug.

You will have to find a way to rebend the toung that grips the male pin or replace the bad pin/s

TOP Center and TOP Right are BAD in this pic:
