Rebuild my 2000 differential or rebuild a 2001 Z06 differential
It's confirmed, I cracked my differential case across the top of the bottom fins on my 2000 differential. Most likely the main shaft from the trans broke. Was going to take it RPM Trans for a rebuild but I came across a 2001 Z06 differential with a worn limited slip. 148k miles although mine has 126k. I assume the thicker output shafts are a plus but is the shot peening much of an advantage. A big plus is that I wouldn't have to buy a new case.

The ONLY thing different INSIDE the ZO6 Diff is shot peened gears!
The case is a three ribbed stronger case.
If you get the used differential, I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you pull it apart and inspect it and then install the required C6 ZO6 Up-Graded hardened parts and some C6 ZO6 limited Slip Clutches and new HD Beleview springs.
Here are the post that you should review. I did this to mine and was VERY satisfied with the results.
You also should look at getting a ECS Brace, PFADT Different Mount and some better shocks (helps prevent wheel hop/drivetrain shake)
