Default SCM Code B2605 Caused Check Engine Light.

Hello All,

I have the 2000 Corvette and the Check Engine Light came on. I checked the code on the DIC (Key to On- Press and hold Option+ Fuel 4 times); the only code is B2605. Then after the DIC cycled through I tried resetting it by pressing and holding Reset; however, the DIC still shows 1 CODES. I cannot reset this to save my life and that CEL is really bothering me.

Also, can this code throw the CEL?

Please help.

-Thanks,
Ska

NO WAY that code can cause a CEL.

I suggest that you start and run the engine and pull codes with the engine running. To pull codes with the engine running you must use the RESET button to clear all messages displayed in the DIC and then pull codes as normal.

Alternatively you can go to your favorite parts store and have them use their hand held reader to read the emissions codes. Emissions related codes are what cause the CEL to be illuminated. There are a few emissions related conditions that the C5 built in reader does handle.
Thanks for replying. How can I reset the CEL in this case? Just by disconnecting the battery? If so, for how long?

Try what I suggested to see if you can find the code that is causing the CEL.
I understand and I am planning on fixing it. However, can the CEL be resetted? If so, how?

Thanks for the info. BTW, I live in KY so no emissions here.
