Not all mirrors have problems, mine are fine. I'd talk to Vettenuts. Kuwait, cool...
Can't say if C6 will fit.
My Nephew had the same misting problem on his driver side mirror on His 2004. He changed out the glass only to fix that problem. It was still available from Chevrolet. His motors are still working fine as far as I know.
The more usual door mirror problem is that they "flop" due to internal corrosion. I would be interested to see if any alternates are workable. I have a temporary fix for mine, but would like to really have a long term resolution before tearing the doors apart. Nice to have mirrors with repeater turn signals in them too - not the "arrows" but a signal that can be seen from any angle.
The electrochromic glass is messed up on my '04 as well, also had this problem on the '02 Denali. I'm not 100% for the C5, but on the truck the mirror had an outer layer of glass with the electrochromic fluid in the middle. You could actually remove (break) the outer layer of glass, drain the fluid if there's any left and have a normal mirror exposed.
