Hi guys, My 01 z06 started squealing from under the hood. I replaced the belt and it fixed it for several days and came back. I replaced the tensioner pulley and again it was fixed for a bit and came back again. Any ideas what might causing this as I cant pin point it.

With the engine running look at the balancer pulley on the front of the crankshaft. If you see a little wobble there's your problem. It's killing the belt.

Another possible is the alternator bearings are going out.

Oh.... any coolant get in the belts? It can get in the grooves of the pulley and even with a new belt it can make it squeal too. You remove the belt, degreaser on the pullies, wipe down in the groves... should settle that if its coolant.

I had the same problem,ended up replacing both belt tensioners.

Also check if the squeal in relation to HVAC being on. Could be the AC pulley.
