MTI stage II ls6 heads and C2 cam dyno numbers are in
Finish installing my new setup, car is a 01 Z06. After tunig the car pulled
426rwhp and 408 rwtq. The car's mods include:
Pulley,shaner tb,halltech intake,magnecore wires,tr60 plugs,belanger headers(no cats)heads and cam.
I'm pretty happy with the results, but I'm on the quest for 440rwhp, the guys at MTI say that my headers are robbing me power, but I did get 16 rwhp out of them when installed. They also recomended an after market exhaust, but I'm not sure what gains to expect out of that? Any way please give me your thoughts and what you think I can do to reach my gaol of 440rwhp. thanks guys

I know of one way you can instantly reach over 150 RWHP at a flick of a switch but I guess that would be cheating  A switch in my opinion to TPIS headers or cartek headers and definitely an after market exhaust should definitely put you past that but which one is totally up to your liking like style, sound, etc. do your home work and review some dyno results from members doing replacements of there stock exhaust to after market and see which one suites your needs and style . :steering:

I would be very happy with it as is! But if you want that extra 14 hp, then do what they say, change the headers to what they say, and then add a free flowing cat back like the Corsa Ti.

put in 4:10 gears. that'll 'cheat' you to >440rwhp.

Since your car is an 01 Z how is it with oil consumption? You may need a re-ring to get your power back to where it should be. If you change the headers and the exhaust I really dont see you gaining more than 10rwhp. I have seen other cars get the re-ring and pull about 10-15 more rwhp.

Re: MTI stage II ls6 heads and C2 cam dyno numbers are in (kh24)
thanks for the replies guys.
I'll probably try a full 3" exhaust, and stay away from the "gas" for now. I need to do some homework on gearing maybe 4.10s are a bit much for a daily driver, I'm considering 3.90s
I have no oil comsuption problems and hope it stays that way.

change the headers.....not sure what the difference in the C1 (my cam) and C2 (your cam) is....but my car puts down 443 and 409 with same mods as you minus the Shaner TB ...... only difference is the cam and headers (FLP)
hope that helps

Re: MTI stage II ls6 heads and C2 cam dyno numbers are in (Ram Air Tony)
Seriously considering doing that ,thanks Tony. By the way thanks for helping me chose my set up, you always answered my e-mails and made my decisions easier when you e-mail me your dyno graph. Who did your tuning?
The C2 cam is a 224/224 581/581 112
the c1 cam is a 222/222 566/566 112 pretty much the same.

Interesting chance for a comparison with an LS1...
My car is an 01 with the same mods, except I have FLP headers. My numbers are in my sig.
BTW, Great numbers and I know you are loving the new power.

Exhaust upgrades should do it...Stainless Works, 3" intermediate pipe, etc. An aftermarket catback should be worth ~5 alone. I saw this up at the shop when a Stg. 2 H/C '01 Z06 went from 436 to 441 going from stock Ti to Corsa Indys, no ther changes.
Good luck with the 440+

Re: MTI stage II ls6 heads and C2 cam dyno numbers are in (C5Cemo)
hmm, Tony is making around 17 more rwhp than me and 2001 c5 is making 4 rwhp less with ls1 stage II heads and both have FLP headers, Maybe the I need bigger headers, but I did gain 16 rwhp with the header swap when the car was stock probably try new headers.
